jus ad bellum regime, you may be interested to read that John Bellinger last week delivered an address at the Supreme Court on "Law and the Use of Force", and he has published parts of his speech in
Lawfare here. Is it consistent with what we have been discussing? If not, how so? Please comment below.
It is not entirely inconsistent with what we talked about in class but the idea that international law on the use of force is "outdated" is definitely different than what we talked about in class. I am not sure how he thinks international rules on the use of force is outdated but I found that to be the most contrasting element of his lecture in comparison to the international rules on use of force that we have talked about. -CB
